# Installation & Download

## retailcloud Windows POS Installation <a href="#title-text" id="title-text"></a>

* **Step 1 - Computer needs Microsoft .Net**

Download and Install the Microsoft .Net Framework 4.6 or higher. If you already have this installed on your Computer, you may skip this step and proceed to Step 2. Microsoft .Net Framework is required for MySQL 5.6 to work on a Windows machine. [**To verify if you have Microsoft .Net Framework**](http://www.asoft.be/prod_netver.html) run the following program that will verify if you have it or not.&#x20;

* **Step 2 - Run the Installer**

Download and run the retailcloud Installer. Follow the steps in the installer to complete. This download installs the following:

* * Java

  * retailcloud Windows POS

* **Step 3 - Install your Register**

To complete the install, you will need the following credentials provided in your Welcome Letter (sent via Email).&#x20;

* **System Admin Username**
* **System Admin Password**
* **Merchant ID** (this is a Numerical value)
* **Register ID** (this is a Numerical value, needs to be created from back office portal)

**To create a Register ID:**  login to the back office portal, and create a new register on your account. Follow the path Management > Hierarchy > Register > Create Register.\
The screen should display as such:\

Fill in the Name, select the venue and store, and leave Posi Track selected. Choose save.\
Once the Register is created, you will get a success message as shown below, displaying the register ID that has been created. This is the ID you will use to register your Windows POS application.

Open your newly downloaded retailcloud Windows POS, enter the credentials mentioned above, select Install.

**Note:**  This retailcloud installer should only be used for Computer that does not have MySQL currently installed - DO NOT use the installer if it is currently on the computer.<br>

* Windows 8 Embedded
* Windows 10

This list supports Home and Professional Editions as well as 32 and 64 Bit OS.<br>
